SHOWCASE

"Showcase" is a noun that defines as a container with glass sides where important objects are secured and displayed. The project is located at 238 Queen Street West, and the concept I explore are display, preserve, and refresh. The "display" aspect of my design embraces historic architecture, and demonstrates to the public an environment where work-life balance is essential. The existing glass windows were removed and is now replaced by large glazing curtains inserted into the existing brick façade, this is to create a balance between a refreshing atmosphere while also preserving the existing facade. The integration of new elements into the existing facade is a reminder of what was originally there, preserving the authenticity of the building to generations beyond.
