Safe Haven is a virtual gathering space derived from reinterpretation of architect David Adjaye's works. The formal qualities and prominent gestures emulated are sensuous undulating curves, fluid organic forms, and perforations. Akin to Adjaye’s approach of manipulating solids and voids we created provocative sculptural forms, while infusing his strong sense of proportionality and unapologetic use of colour. This highly experiential pavilion with an elevated atmosphere serves as a creative incubator, cultural healing, rehabilitation and retreat for minorities and marginalized people to express their identity in an inclusive safe space.
