The washroom takes the place of the closet for transgenders. This short film brings attention to the experiences of those who are non-binary, androgynous, or those who are frequently misgendered within public gendered washrooms. We propose a new model that allows for those of any gender identity to reimagine as a place that they belong, and not one that leads them to question their placement. As designers, we feel responsible for designing public washrooms that reduce feelings of dysphoria and avoid emulating a false sense of security.
