Scaffold Nest

The eggshell is a rudimentary, natural shape. When broken in half, the structures undulate, carried by their own weight. First, I illustrated these movements through my collage. Then, I extrapolated the key positions to construct my scaffold. I used two logics to indicate these points: eggshells painted periwinkle and light green structural imitations, curved in on themselves to imply the presence of shells in transition. The painted colours are reminiscent of blue bird eggs in nature. These broken eggshells that are held in a man made structure but painted in nature’s colours make a mockery of man’s interactions with nature.
