The Kingfishers

The scaffold structure are the branches of a tree and the casts place on the scaffold structure are kingfishers vividly sitting on the branches. The colour I chose is yellow and blue. The reason why I chose this set of colours to applied on model is: First of all, I got the inspiration from the kingfisher. I think it is one of the most beautiful birds in the world. Secondly, yellow and blue is the primary colour in art, they can create a great contrast with each other. The image I provided for the kingfisher, orange and blue is the main colour of its feather. Interestingly, my casts original colour is orange, so I plan to applied blue to the cut surface to make my casts the kingfishers. At the same time blue is the contemporary of orange, which emphasis the action of cutting the whole cast apart into two pieces. Shows each casts as an individual part in the model. Moreover, my second chosen colour--yellow is applied directly on the dowels, as dowels are indicate as the branches kingfishers are sitting on. The brightness of yellow really can highlight the significance of the casts placing on the dowels.
