Glazed

The new home of Site 3 CoLaboratory sits at the intersection of Ossington Avenue and Harbord Street in the historical Harbord neighborhood in downtown Toronto. The renovation of 596 Ossington Ave intends to convey the concept of an “interior greenhouse”, in order to contribute to the environment, which will also make the interior of this art and making space alive. A glazed façade is designed for this building to incorporate with natural lights and interior greeneries. An openness from ground floor to the second floor along the glazing expends the space vertically. The open areas throughout the whole architecture is an important feature that gains sunlight for the enclosed volumes inside the shell, and lets shadow cast on the interior walls.
