Virage Hotel

Virage Hotel: Taking inspiration from Le Corbusier and his use of bold, sculptural rationalism, my design for the Annex Hotel utilizes solid and void to divide the space into 18 curved bedrooms. The concept of Virage, meaning 'to turn, bend or curve' in French, is translated throughout the floors, flowing from the lobby into the restaurant, using serpentine banquette seating throughout. A spiral staircase wraps around a tubular glass lift, inviting guests to their rooms. The upper floors are formed by two large curved walls, with the negative spaces making up the guest rooms. These walls are then extruded, creating a poche that holds a closet, media stand, desk, bathroom vanity, shower seating and more built-in storage. Virage Hotel utilizes the playful curves and bold colours to create an inviting, creative atmosphere for young professionals to enjoy.
