Growth

Growth is a design project that examines the natural simulation process by methods of robotic 3D printing. In nature, simulation processes are observable in the faviidae brain coral species. This design pushes the boundaries of robotic 3D printing while exploring the possibilities of reaction diffusion simulation. The aim of this project is to explore the intersection between nature and technology by developing dense patterns, and pushing the potential of printing parametric environmental patterns onto surfaces projected on a substrate. The final application of the product would start out as an artifact interior object, visually reimagined into a prototype for a pavilion with a final physically assembled artificial light fixture.
