My scaffold and structure model, "Illusion"; which was inspired by my final collage for this project explores movement and uses colour to create an optical illusion. The final collage uses layering and various opacities in order to show movement and this is translated into the final structure through the use of platforms that are varying heights. While at a first glance the relationship in my final collage appears to just be two clay casts pulling apart from one another; at a closer look one will see more complex relationships that are simultaneously occurring. To emphasize this concept I placed pink on surfaces that can be viewed in elevation, and placed orange on surfaces that can be seen in plan view; ultimately creating an illusion.
