Fixed Point Rendering

An apocalyptic atmosphere is created to provide the necessary context for the rendering to celebrate the imperfection and age of the architecture. The intention is to draw viewers’ attention to the aged materials and broken pieces and encourage people to imagine what happened in the space in the past. The composition and sightline are designed in a way that the landscape is framed by the courtyard, and the courtyard is further framed by the interior space. The spatial relationship is highlighted through a strong light and shadow contrast inspired by photos of the architectural photographer, Helene Binet, who loves to express space by means of the contrast between black & white, light & shadow and draw audiences’ attention to the structure and materiality of the architecture.
