Volume and Void

By evaluating form in the painting, my model uses cardstock to create forms of varying heights, emphasizing volume and the painting's design elements and principles. The void generated by the surrounding walls allows the two clover-like shapes to stand out, mimicking the painting's focal point. The painting's composition is also evident through a plan view of the model. Cardstock is easily bendable and gives a clean, slated look to highlight shadows, however, utilizing such a flexible material provided difficulties in the construction of clean edges.
